The narrative elements that seem to be prevalent in my recent paintings are essentially a suggestive point. The known events on the canvas gradually enter into an unknown zone; a tension is intended to build up, as if with an urge to complete the sequence. But it may never have an end. Finally an act of speculation sets into motion in the mind of the viewer. I call it the creative speculation, an act of continuum that goes on. The real that I use on the most part of my canvas is gradually merged into another animated area, the metaphor of unreal. The unreal or the element of surprise, whatever it is, is an essential part of this reality. At this stage of real and unreal, we can shuffle time back and forth, on the same plane of the canvas. A canvas is a continuous zone.
