Introduction

Castenia, My Sister

My brother spent his three month training period with a host family in Pio XII. He had a host mother, a host father, a teenage brother named Jarlery (after t he motorcycle maker), and three teenage sisters - so they were my sisters too.

We met the family at the finca where the father worked as foreman. The mother and sisters were there to make and sell food to he farm workers. I drew a picture of my sister Castenia while she patiently tried to teach me some Spanish. I'm a terrible student of languages. Later, me and Josué posed for pictures with the guns they use to patrol the farm.
