Murals
A mural can transform a room into a personal sanctuary for a child or an adult. Murals can be painted directly on the wall, or on canvas, which can be shipped to the client and applied by a wallpaper installation professional.
Planning the Mural
1. At the
initial consultation,
the client’s preferences and expectations are discussed, including size, subject matter, color palette, style, and painting medium and surface. An appointment is scheduled to view the room in which the mural will be painted. The client is then presented with a
cost estimate.
If the client agrees to the project, the client will pay a non-refundable deposit of $100 per sketch, which will be deducted from the final price.
2. Next, the artist will provide the client with
color sketches
of the mural. The client will agree on the final design, and a
contract
will be signed.
Painting the Mural
The artist will either paint on location or in the studio. Murals can be completed in as little as a day or as long as three weeks, depending on the style and amount of detail. If the mural has been created in the studio, detailed photographs will be sent for the client's review.
Fees
Accent details begin at $200, completely covered walls begin at $800 for a simple design.

Portraits
Painting a portrait is an intimate process. To ensure a successful commission, several steps are involved.
Planning the Portrait
1. At the
initial consultation,
the client’s preferences and expectations are discussed, including size, subject matter, and atmosphere. The client is then presented with a
cost estimate.
If the client agrees to the project, the client will pay a non-refundable deposit of $200 for the consultations, which will be deducted from the final price, and a non-refundable fee of $75 per black and white sketch.
2. Next, an appointment is scheduled to
meet and photograph
the subject. The artist will spend some time with the subject and get to know a little bit about him or her. This allows the artist to connect with the subject in a way that will add life to the final painting. The artist will then photograph the subject in different poses, clothing, and lighting. The artist can also work with the client's own photographs, which in which case the purpose of the first appointment will be to select a pose, as in step 3.
3. After the photographs are developed or if the portrait will be based on the client's own photographs, the artist will meet with the client to
select a pose,
and the artist will complete
compositional and/or color sketches.
Painting the Portrait
The painting will be completed within approximately two or three months, depending on the work load of the artist. Photographs of the work in progress will be mailed or emailed to the client at the initial monochrome underpainting stage, midway through the completion, and when the artist considers the work complete. Once the client has approved the final painting, the work will be shipped.
